June is Pride Month, during which the local, national, and international triumphs and tribulations of LGBTQ+ communities are recognized and celebrated. In acknowledgment of the contributions given by LGBTQ+ communities, this year’s Pride celebration theme is “Unapologetically Us.”
To join in supporting and celebrating LGBTQ+ communities, a few organizations and events are highlighted below.
LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York (LeGaL) Events The LeGal Foundation was founded in 1978 with a commitment to improving the administration of the law, ensuring full equality for members of the LGBT community, promoting the expertise and advancement of LGBT legal professionals, and serving the larger community. NYC Pride: The Conference Thursday, June 23, 2022; 9:00am-7:30pm (EDT) New York Law School – 185 W. Broadway, NY, NY 10013 *Event access fees of $25-75; predominately held in person, limited streaming option available Among the many NYC Pride events, The Conference is featured as the annual symposium led by transformative change-makers in the queer community that focuses on developing new ideas and approaches to activism and community. The ABA 21-Day LGBTQ+ Equity Habit Building Challenge (June) The ABA’s goal of the Challenge is to assist each of us to become more aware, compassionate, constructive, engaged people in the quest for equity, and specifically to learn more about the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and many communities included under the “LGBTQ+ umbrella.” For the ABA 21-Day LGBTQ+ Equity Habit Building Challenge, CLICK HERE.
