During the month of May, AAPI Heritage Month is celebrated and is an important time dedicated to commemorating the achievements, cultures, traditions, and histories of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States, as well as reflecting on the challenges faced, and continually faced, while educating others about the same.
To join in honoring and celebrating the AAPI community, a few organizations and events are highlighted below.

Soar Over Hate

Soar Over Hate serves the AAPI community in the NYC area through organizing self-defense classes, puppy therapy, meditation classes, mental health referrals, and much more. In addition, Soar Over Hate hosts an annual AAPI Care Fair for AAPI Heritage Month which prioritizing low-income, elderly, female, and LGBTQ+ of the community in order to promote healing, safety, and joy.

Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with NYC Parks

The ABA AAPI Heritage Month 21-Day Racial Equity Habit-Building Challenge and Webinar Series

The goal of the Challenge is to “assist each of us to become more aware, compassionate, constructive, engaged people in the quest for racial equity, and specifically to learn more about the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.” In addition, the ABA conducted an emerging webinar series focused on diving into “the experiences of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities along with the social, political, and economic issues they have and continue to face.”
