Julie Buonocore is a partner with Rebar Kelly. She has dedicated her entire career to defending carriers, TPAs, and their Insureds. She is a resourceful lawyer and business professional with a proven track record of achievement and attaining favorable outcomes for her clients. Julie advances her client’s interests by crafting a comprehensive and nuanced legal strategy founded on innovative approaches, a deep understanding of the law, and aggressive defense. She handles all aspects of pre-litigation claims and litigation in state and federal courts, from the first notice of claim throughout the life of a litigation and appeal. Julie handles a diverse set of claims including medical malpractice, professional negligence/malpractice, products liability, employment litigation, nursing home negligence, consumer fraud, catastrophic personal injury, and trucking liability. She works in professional liability, errors omissions, general liability, employment practices liability, and many other insurance lines.
Julie has practiced insurance defense for her entire career. Julie has parlayed her significant experience into leadership and education roles within the insurance defense community. She was named a Super Lawyer: Rising Star for 2020 and was nominated for the CLM Young Professionals Outside Counsel of the Year Award in 2020. Julie is presently a board member of CLM’s Young Professional Advisory Board and is a committee chair for the Conference Committee. She has also presented on a variety of topics from defending against a bad faith set up to unconscious bias in litigation. Julie is a former law clerk for the U.S. Attorney, District of Delaware, and clerked for the Honorable Franklin Van Antwerpen of the Third Circuit.
Julie graduated Temple University Beasley School of Law magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, she was the Lead Research Editor of the Temple Law International and Comparative Law Journal. Julie studied at American University, where she earned a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish. She also studied at the Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago de Chile.

Julie currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband. She enjoys spending time reading, traveling, and cooking.
